Important legal information

The Ontario Public Service Employees’ Union Pension Plan (the “OPSEU Pension Plan” or simply, the “Plan”) is administered by a ten person board of trustees (the “Board of Trustees”). “OPTrust” is the business name used by the Board of Trustees. The name of the Plan’s fund, “OPSEU Pension Plan Trust Fund,” may also be used to refer to the Board of Trustees.

This website provides general information about the OPSEU Pension Plan and the activities of OPTrust. We make an effort to keep the information on this website up to date. However, the entitlement to benefits is governed by the Plan’s text, the Pension Benefits Act (Ontario) and the Income Tax Act (Canada), all of which are complex and subject to change. In the event of a conflict between the information on this website and the Plan’s text, the Plan’s text will govern.
